Wines by Serendipity
We acquired and planted our property in the Yarra Valley in 1995 and welcomed the first vintage of Toolangi in 2000. Now in our 13th year of producing wines, our focus continues to be the production of exemplary wines. Our highly regarded wines are a tribute to a great vineyard site and our passionate winemakers.

We presented 13 wines for review and all of the wines received ratings over 90 points.
A great achievement reflecting our commitment to making the finest wines possible.
The grapes come from the block that, year in, year out, provides the top quality chardonnay for Toolangi. This is the classic iron fist in a velvet glove, the sheer power and intensity on the back-palate and finish striking without warning on the finish and aftertaste; the flavours are three-dimensional, encompassing every flavour and nuance of perfectly ripened chardonnay fruit, which has eaten 11 months in oak. To 2024.
From a single part (Block E) of the Toolangi Vineyard, made at Giaconda. The colour, while relatively light, is deeper than the other three pinots in the '11 range, and slightly more purple; everything about the wine (even the bottle) is more substantial than its siblings, the fruit darker and richer, the French oak (12 months maturation) with a higher percentage of new barrels. To 2017.
HUON HOOKE, huonhooke.com, January 2014
"Light to medium colour, and a straw and hay-like aroma, seemingly lightly oaked and the fruit expression is quite different from other Toolangi Estate chardonnay. There's an apparent sweetness on the mid-palate and fairly strident acidity leading to a clean finish. 90 points.
BRETT SMITH, GEELONG ADVERTISER, December 2013
"Wow! Beautiful ripe stone fruit aromas matched with oak in a mesmerising combination. Flavours are bold and bright, with nectarine peach and lemon zest extending across the palate. But there is a smooth, velvet nature to them and therein lies the harmonious balance that brings this chardonnay close to perfection as it oozes elegance along its lengthy finish. Aged in French oak for 11 months. Toolangi has produced an exemplary chardonnay."
On the nose a perfect blend of savoury and spice. Hints of ginger, white flowers, guava and a touch of creaminess from French oak. The intensity and openness of Viogner is controlled by the tension of Chardonnay. Barrel fermentation adds texture and the palate tightens with a line of phenolics and acid.
